One painting, four moods
It started as a single acrylic study — a pink form against blue sky and yellow spray. Then it was pulled apart, re-coloured, and repeated, Warhol-style. Hover a panel (or tap on mobile) to see it up close.
The source
Every series starts with paint. This small acrylic study on tile — loose, quick, unfussy — became the seed for the four-panel piece above. Its rising form was inspired by Scott's own manhood, a frank and playful nod to the self-portrait tradition. Scott works this way often: paint something honest, then interrogate it with colour.
About
From ledgers to layers of paint
Scott spent years as an accountant — spreadsheets by day, sketchbooks by night. Art was the lifelong passion that never quite fit on a balance sheet. So he changed careers.
Coming to it late means coming to it hungry. Scott paints with the urgency of someone making up for lost time: bold colour, repeated forms, and a pop sensibility that owes as much to print-making as to the canvas. He'll even wear the work — that's one of his own paintings on the t-shirt.
